The City of Corpus Christi Says Stay Safe in the Excessive Heat

    The excessive heat we're experiencing in the Coastal Bend can be deadly. Here are some tips for surviving the heat and how to get relief.

    The excessive heat we're experiencing in the Coastal Bend can be deadly. The Texas Department of State Health has some basic recommendations.  Those include:

    Never leave anyone, including animals in a closed parked vehicle.

    Drink Plenty of fluids. Make sure outside workers have access to plenty of water. Don't wait until you're thirsty. Drink fluids at least 30 minutes before going outside.

    Check with the elderly and the ill and others who may need help.

    Tale frequent breaks when you work outside.

    CCRTA

    The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority will allow individuals to ride fare-free upon telling their Bus Operator that they'll be traveling to the nearest cooling center. For more information, go to http://www.ccrta.org.

    Splash Pads, Swimming Pools, and Bayfront Park Fountain
